Master Lin is a very serious person. He is often feared by the students at Kings Dominion, the shy, quiet and even rule breakers, even Chico. When Brandy was passing notes in his class to Marcus, he whacked her with his cane sword, causing her nose to bleed. Brandy did cry, but quickly covered it up by looking at Marcus while licking the blood from her injury in a sinister manner, showing that Lin's students are ruthless and insane.
He gave his students an assignment to kill those who deserved to die, and required them to show him proof. When the deadline arrived, he had students explain how the murder went down. He quickly saw that Willie was lying, and lashed out at the students, saying that the weak does not belong in his school. He then sent everyone in his class but Willie to a chamber, gave them a riddle and required them to solve it, or else they would die of poison. As this went down, he questioned Willie how he managed to lift a dead mans body all by himself,suspecting that he was not the one who commited the crime.
He was seen to show empathy when Marcus was speaking at Rory's funeral, seeing himself in him because his first kills haunted him like it did Marcus. He ordered Saya,Maria,Billy,Lex and Billie to track Marcus down and bring him to the academy. There Marcus told him to eat his shit, but he did not budge or seem angry, as he knew that Marcus was in a lot of pain, and acknowledged that.
When Jurgen, he and his fathers long time colleague and friend, wanted to resign as he did not recognise the school and the students in it changed drastically, he poisoned his drink with a substance, but Jurgen could tell what the substance was, and a fight ensued between the two. As Lin was about to strangle Jurgen, he let him go, and told him to never tell anyone that he had shown him mercy, as this broke the guild's rule of killing those who wanted to resign, fearing that they might reveal their location.
He claimed that his wife and daughter were dead, but this was later revealed to be false, as he had a secret entrance in his office leading to where he and his family resided at. This was found out by his sister, Madame Gao, as she could tell that he was not grieving like a normal person, because she too lost her son, and that made her ruthless, but saw that his daughters death made him soft, though he covered it up and claimed that everyone grieves differently.
He is also seen to be protective of his students, as he lied to Chico's father about the circumstances of his death, framing the now dead Yukio to be the murderer. But his father found out that Lin lied to him, waited at his home sitting at the dinner table with his wife and daughter, and a fight ensued. In the commotion, his wife was shot in the head by Chico's father, and he was seen to be in incredible distress. He took his daughter and fled the scene. It is unknown who revelead the location to El Diablo, but it is very likely that it was Madame Gao's doing.
During the escape, it can be seen that Lin has quite a lot of helpers, as people who were selling food came to his aid, slashing a handful of Chico's fathers clan. He can be seen to also have secret passageways across the street, leading him to locations that only he knows exists.
When one of El Diablo's people chased Lin down, he is seen to comfort and reminisce the time where his daughter was in swimming class, encouraging her to show him just how long she can hold her breath as he went out and took the man down.
Before all this went down, he instructed Saya to guard his home, unbeknownst that his supposed dead wife and daughter were in there. Ultimately, Saya chose to help her friends instead,leaving the location unguarded. He went to Madame Gao's office as Viktor and Brandy stood beside her, thinking that whatever they told her was true, and that they chose to be on her side instead of Lin's. This was later revealed to be a lie, as Viktor,Lin and Brandy attacked her. Madame Gao barely escaped, and they were left to deal with the people who acted as furnitures in her office. They all took them down and Viktor helped Lin to escape the office by lifting the door that was shut closed. His fingers were crushed in the process, as Brandy comforted Viktor of his injuries, they questioned if they were on the winning team.
Lin would slowly succumb to his injuries, as Gao took his daughter, he pleaded for her to let her daughter go, saying that she was not ready to take the Great Exam, Gao looked down upon him and said that she, too was not ready when she took the exam.
It is unknown what happened to Lin, as season 2 was cancelled after a few months of the show airing.
