History[]
Early Life
King's Dominion
For weeks, she loathed and regretted her actions. She began drinking heavily, which distanced her from Marcus, who continued seeing her without the rest of the school knowing. She even attempted to kill Marcus with an arrow that Saya caught. She didn't know how to handle Marcus getting close with another woman. Later that night as she drank herself to unconsciousness again.
During Marcus's arrival, Maria faked a black eye with makeup, hoping that Marcus would pity her and meet up with Chico as he planned. He initially wanted to back out but then saw Maria's injuries, Marcus punched him and almost got himself killed, but Maria later revealed that she faked the injury in hopes of Marcus killing Chico. Marcus did not take this lightly, as he felt played. Maria is seen to be afraid of Chico, as he would hurt her if she did not comply with his actions, but then would love her like she was an object. She also said that Chico gets into fights about her, but not for her, claiming that Chico is not a good person, and picks a fight with anyone who looked at her. Chico stabbed his cousin who flirted with Maria with a pitchfork, wounding him.
She would also be very afraid of making her own decisions, as she wanted to go to a party but Chico offered to take her out to a fancy dinner instead. Chico would often gaslight her, making her feel invalidated. They were approached by Chico's friend, whom Chico offered a ride back home. Maria was buzzed and was laughing with his friend. After they got in the car, Chico shot him in the head, traumatizing Maria.
Chico told her he would never hurt or kill her, and that he wanted to raise kids and start a family with her, "with little niños running around the house." He threatened Maria, and told her if she ever tried to hire someone to assassinate him again, she will wish that he killed her, implying that Chico knew that she wanted Marcus to kill him.
Maria would flirt with Marcus, teasing him during lessons. She almost had sex with Marcus during their Vegas trip, but was confronted by Chico. She then slit his throat with her fans and killed him, leaving his body.
She was ordered by El Diablo to find out about who killed Chico. At the same time, she pursued a relationship with Marcus. However, Maria was very traumatized with the death of Chico. She spiraled out of control and almost killed Marcus out of jealousy because of his relationship with Saya.
She killed Yukio and framed him for Chico's murder, finishing El Diablo's mission. Unfortunately for her, he could tell that Maria was lying, as he did not see truth in her eyes when she talked about the pain of Chico's death.
She confessed to killing Yukio to Marcus, but lied to Madame Gao when tied to a chair and confronted, saying that she did not understand love and she didn't hurt Chico. This raised eyebrows everywhere, including a lesson where Brandy, Saya, and Maria were preparing for an attack. Brandy told her she didn't believe Maria didn't kill Marcus and mocked her even further by mentioning the riddle test. Maria gave everyone the antidote but was hesitant to give it to Chico.
Maria then broke up with Marcus after helping him kill Chester. She said that she knew about his affair, and walked out to see the Soto Vatos waiting for her, as Marcus held the severed head of Chico. The Holy Ghost proceeded to shoot and, presumably, kill Lex.
It is unknown what happens next, as the show was cancelled a few months after airing.
