Shabnam was viewed as a loser, as he was always the teachers pet. He participated in being class president, but Viktor dumped a rubbish bin onto his head, and was helped by Marcus.
Shabnam was kicked by Lex, as he was upset by how everyone dirtied his parents' home during the party. But this time Marcus stepped down and decided not to stick up for him as he was still feeling guilty for killing Rory.
When Shabnam was held off by Viktor and his followers, Marcus stepped in and Shabnam was mad at him for this, saying that they're going to keep messing with him because of Marcus.
Shabnam was roommates with Marcus, and found his diary and drawings. He then sent it off to Madame Gao and told her the location they were heading as Marcus had written it down in his diary. Gao told him to keep digging but not get suspected. He was then asked by Marcus if he had talked to his parents lately, as he knew that Chester kidnapped his parents and that his dad was killed when escaping. Surprisingly, Shabnam said yes, he was still keeping in contact with them.
It is unknown as to why Shabnam lied, but it can be seen that he resented his parents, for always neglecting him and were always away. It can be also guessed that Shabnam knew that his parents were held captive by Chester, and that he wanted them to die, showing a much more darker side of him.
